I am trying to find the words that sum up the thanks I have for your organization. Last week, my boyfriend and I adopted an amazing pup at Town Brookhaven. We met "Jay Hawk/George" with his foster mommy (WHO WAS AMAZING!!). After only a few short minutes, we knew that this precious baby was going to be ours. Shortly after, we walked away with our beautiful new baby!
We recently moved to Atlanta within the last month. We came from New Jersey and the transition has been scary due to the lack of family that we have in Georgia. When we adopted George we finally created our own family and it is the most comforting thing in the world.
We searched the Angels Among Us Facebook page and found the post where George was found in an abandoned house with a lot of other beautiful puppies. After reading the post ,our heart was heavy that he had this start to life. We are dedicated to make our little baby the happiest in the world.
So, I want to thank you for being in the Town Brookhaven courtyard and for changing our lives." -Teressa ... See MoreSee Less
“When we got the terrible news that our daughter’s disease had progressed, I could no longer say 'no' to anything she wanted. I called a friend who knew of a pet rescue organization and, in a few hours, a kind lady from Angels Among Us delivered a baby kitten to us who had gotten off to a rough start in life. We had every intention of returning the cat in a few days.
But a divine appointment happened. We brought this rescue kitten to Kylie, our 11-year-old daughter who was in the very last phases of cancer. Kylie sat up for what would be the very last time. She gave us her very last smiles and loved on that little kitten as long as her energy would allow.
When she laid back in her bed to rest, that little kitten curled right up in the crook of her arm and never moved. Never! If one of us moved her, she would go right back into the crook of Kylie’s arm. The kitten, which we have now adopted and initially named “Dolly,” rested patiently with Kylie to give her comfort and peace as she breathed her last breath on this Earth.” - Mark ... "I volunteer at a small, rural animal control facility in middle-Georgia. We had ZERO interest in any of our wonderful dogs until Angels Among Us Pet Rescue found us! This rescue never turns away from the special cases..the sick, the starved, or the frightened dogs. All have a chance with them!
AAU has cleared our shelter more than once, taking every single dog! They see beauty in every animal, and give them a chance. Without AAU, many wonderful dogs and cats would be lost. AAU gives us hope where there is all too often, none.
We also love when they notify us after a dog gets adopted, Sometimes they will send us photos of the 'happily ever after.' We appreciate this!
We really treasure our relationship with Angels Among Us. They are a Godsend to small, rural animal controls like us." - Sandra ... See MoreSee Less
"Hi, Angels! Lucy came into our lives in August of 2014, and she was pretty skittish and scared. She had a few accidents in the house and tried to run away a few times. Her fur was very thin and she had immense amount of tartar on her teeth when she was rescued.
Over time, with patience, good food, and lots of love, she has become such a happy-go-lucky girl! I'm excited to say that her fur is now thick and shiny, and she loves her squeaky toys. Her tail is always wagging; sometimes it wags so hard that her whole body wags with it...that always makes us laugh! She loves to cuddle on the couch with us and plays with Gracie, our other dog. She never attempts to run away from us, and stays so close that we refer to her as our "little barnacle."
I can't thank you enough for rescuing this precious angel and allowing her into our lives. She cheers us all up each and every day!" - Tanya ... See MoreSee Less
"We adopted our 'Chessie' (formerly 'Choco'about a year and a half ago, and we are so glad she has joined our family. We are so in love with her. She brings a silliness that we didn't know was missing! We were in a rental situation with a tiny, non-fenced lot, but have since bought her a home with a huge, fully-fenced yard for her to run around in. Her life has new meaning now that she has discovered lizards and little frogs! 🙂 She loves going to our lake property and bounding in the shallow water and leaping bravely off the dock. We are so thankful that Angels knew we were her forever family even though we were in a temporary home. Thank you, Angels!"

"I just wanted to send our THANKS to y’all! Last Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of when we adopted Cooper. He has given us so much joy in our lives and we couldn’t imagine life without him. Cooper loves to sniff everything (must be the beagle in him), watch people and dogs from the window, cuddle, go on car rides, come to our Crossfit gym with us, and be chased by other dogs!
He is super fast and very loving. Cooper was even in our engagement photos and might be in our upcoming wedding in October.
We wouldn’t have this precious angel in our lives if it wasn’t for his foster, Chantel, and Angels Among Us.Thank you soooooo much!!"

"To whomever writes the beautiful Angels Among Us posts on Facebook, including the "rip at your heart" testimonials that are written from the voice of the pets themselves - wow! You have such a raw passion and your love of animals is very clear every single time you write one of the many beautiful, heart-felt stories that show up online. It's as if the animals are saying, "This is my story..."
I personally want to thank you for making me laugh and cry. You make me want to share your posts with all of my friends.
If possible, please give each angel rescue pet a big hug, a scratch behind their ears and, most importantly, a beautiful, soft voice that tells them that I am praying for them, and for the millions of other homeless pets who are searching for their forever homes right now. Thank you again for your tireless efforts." -Debbie ... See MoreSee Less
"On February 13, my sweet rescue dog, Savanna, was called back to the Rainbow Bridge. I loved her with all my soul. Then, just by chance, I visited the AAU website (www.angelsrescue.org), clicked on the adopt tab, and saw sweet Puglia. Tears and chills came upon me. She IS Savanna, identical to the eye, with all of her best qualities and 1,000% more! I began the adoption process immediately. AAU is filled with true ANGELS...the fostering, the compassion, the veterinary care and the thorough screening of an applicant is excellent.
Trust me when I say that she is the love of my life and we are made for each other. I cannot thank AAU enough for who they are and what they do. Whether you are a foster, a volunteer, and adopter or a donor, PLEASE give your time and resources this special group. Allow them to continue to spread their angel wings for all of the animals in this world who so sorely need them. To each and every person at AAU...thank you for all you do; WE LOVE YOU!" ... "I remember falling in love with him when we picked him up from Veronica, his foster mom. Needless to say, we just celebrated his adoption anniversary of 1.5 years and he has been the perfect, energetic addition to our home! He sleeps with our son or at my feet, spoiled, just like every dog should be. He had a lot of social issues when we took him in, but to say he has come out of his shell is an understatement. He's fun, he loves to play, and he has no argument about a belly rub.
Thank you AAU for giving our sweet baby a chance and bringing him into our home. After losing Zana, we were glad to have him to keep us laughing and give plenty of snuggles. Attached is a photo of him, our son and our other dog Bella, who has become his best friend. Thank you AAU, and you'll hear from us soon about our next family member!!!" ... See MoreSee Less
“AAUPR is a very unique rescue organization based upon its dedication to their animals and amazing public support. They have enabled us and a variety of other veterinary clinics to perform life-saving medical and surgical treatments to hundreds of animals that would have otherwise had no chance at a return to a normal quality of life. I would recommend this rescue organization to any clients that are looking for a new pet, and to any shelter that is trying to find additional avenues to help dogs find their forever homes.” – Dr. M. "After losing my sweet dog in 2012, I was ready to adopt again. A childhood friend told me about Angels Among Us Pet Rescue on Facebook. I 'liked' the page and started looking at dogs. Papaya (now Daisy) caught my attention. I followed her story and eventually got to adopt the sweetest dog ever in May 2013!
Several months later, I started volunteering on the foster application team and eventually became a foster. Twelve foster dogs later, I'm still here! I never, ever intended to foster or adopt a blind dog, but I couldn't imagine my life without her and am so grateful that Angels Among Us provided her with the critical medical care she needed to live a long and happy life." -Sally ... "I started following Angels Among Us Pet Rescue around the time that they acquired Devin, the "Perfectly Imperfect Angel." I fell in love with this little guy and that is when I became a huge supporter of AAU and their mission.
The work that they do is impeccable. They go above and beyond for the animals they rescue. These people have huge hearts and are very passionate about what they do. Soon after Devin's very own Facebook page got established, AAU gradually acquired a few more 'special needs' kitties. Devin's original Foster Mom (Kim) incorporated these new kitties onto Devin's page.
One such kitty was/is Kamilla. Kamilla came to them in pretty bad shape. She was a tiny little thing and she had very bad eye infections. She ended up losing an eye. AAU's Kim took such great care of her and got her healthy.
Kamilla is now my baby girl. She has accepted the status of "Mommy's Little Princess" and is spoiled rotten. When we drove up to Atlanta to get Kamilla, I wanted my husband to choose a kitty friend for her. He chose adorable Dot. Dot was also on Devin's page and she lived with Kim as well. When AAU acquired Dot she was a tiny little kitten that had a prolapsed rectum. They thought she might need surgery, but in time the problem fixed itself. She has blossomed into a beautiful baby girl. She, unlike Kamilla, got renamed. Her new name is Graycee.
With all of the love and care that they received, they were able to overcome their obstacles and are now living normal, happy, and healthy lives. This all happened thanks to the love and compassion of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. For this, I say, thank you for all you do!" - Tammy ... See MoreSee Less

"My husband and I had just moved back to Georgia and started discussing the idea of fostering. We have two personal cats and needed to make sure everything was in order before we fostered. I "liked" the Angels Among Us Pet Rescue page on Facebook before we moved. I really wanted to help; it's something I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember!
One day I saw a picture of a very sick kitten and sent the picture to my husband. He quickly agreed to foster it, and I put in the application. However, someone had already been assigned t foster the kitten so we took in a different rescue cat who needed a foster. Her name was Elliot.
I'm pleased to say that the people at Angels Among Us Pet Rescue are on the ball; they've helped Elliot so much! Elliot has a food allergy and they have made sure that she has everything she needs. This rescue takes on some of the toughest situations I have ever seen. They truly care about their rescue pets.
I am proud to be a volunteer for thisorganization. It has been so much fun fostering Elliot. She is one of the sweetest and most delightful cats I have ever met." -Missy ... See MoreSee Less
“As the Rescue Coordinator for a large shelter, I work with Angels Among Us every week. I'm so grateful for their work in our community. AAU rescues many of our abuse cases, and also saves many of the animals that come into our care after being hit by a car. These animals are costly to treat. As such, their opportunities for rescue placement are slim without groups like AAU. One particular rescue stands out for me, personally. It was a dog who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I reached out to many rescues that day, hoping to save this staff favorite. Many were unable to step up for a dog that would likely be very expensive to treat, and required hospice care. But Angels embraced the animal. Receiving that phone call informing me that AAUPR would save her brought me to tears. Happily, I hear she is doing great with their foster and has excellent vet care. It's a pleasure to work with Angels Among Us. They're making a profound difference in our community.” - Audrey Shoemaker, Rescue Coordinator, Fulton County Animal Services (managed by LifeLine Animal Project) ... See MoreSee Less
"I am a Rescue Coordinator and have worked with Angels Founder, Luann Farrell, and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue for years. This rescue is the most well-known and respected rescue in Georgia and anyone in rescue knows that if an animal is saved by AAU, they are in the best of hands.
This group is highly-respected for saving some of the sickest and most badly- injured animals from shelters and not just taking the cream of the crop. When they put out a plea for help, they mobilize a small army of volunteers. Like any organization, there will always be a nay-sayer, or some who are malcontent, but when it comes to AAU, I would trust them with my own family pets!
This is a group with a stellar reputation. If someone were to tell me something negative about Angels, I would consider it a very bad source of information. I support AAU, 100%!" - Connie, Rescue Coordinator, Acworth, GA ... See MoreSee Less
“Almost three years ago, I saw a sign for a missing dog on my way to work. It was an Angels Among Us dog who was recently adopted and had gotten loose. I "liked" AAU on Facebook. I didn't see the missing dog, but I did see posts for many other amazing dogs who needed foster homes. I told myself, "You already have two big dogs; you can't take another. Someone else will step up."
But then, a little pit bull puppy showed up in my newsfeed one day. It was a small puppy with a gaping neck wound from being tied out for his whole short life. I had a chance to save a life. I offered to foster him, and so it began!
Fosters provide just one chapter in the stories of these dogs’ lives, but our chapter is a positive one. We get to be the heroes that nurse them back to health, teach them how to be a dog again, help them learn to trust, and send them on their way to live the good life with a forever family. Letting a foster dog go will break your heart, but seeing them blossom and finally have a family to call their own is the best part of fostering. This is why we do what we do. And this is why we adore AAU.” -Kelly ... See MoreSee Less
"As a Rescue Coordinator, I would like to say what a pleasure it is to work with Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Every person I have spoken to is full of heart. It is evident they love what they do. Paulding County Animal Control has been so grateful they have taken in very difficult, and very expensive cases without hesitation.
One save that comes to mind would be Bartles. I called AAU in a panic because it was the week before Christmas, and we had taken in a Border Collie mix that was struck by a car. We knew he was severely injured, and had very little hope unless I found a rescue. Luckily, they took him in and he received the very best veterinary care possible. He was a Christmas miracle, and made a full recovery. He is now he is living the life of luxury in his forever home. That is all thanks to the wonderful people that took a chance on him.
Angels Among Us Pet Rescue does such great work for our community. I look forward to working with AAU for many years to come!" - Katie, Paulding County ... See MoreSee Less
My precious "Merry" was a favorite at Henry County Animal Control. She was a senior girl who was used as a breeder dog. When she was no longer able to produce any puppies, she was thrown out like trash and ended up at HCAC. She quickly became a crowd favorite as she loved everyone. Merry was sick with an URI and her time was limited. AAU agreed to rescue her. It was a frigid winter day and the shelter was more than two hours from Atlanta. Once I had her, she went straight to the vet. She was pigeon toed and had a hunched back from being in a crate her entire life. Her teeth were in horrible shape. Despite all her trauma, Merry's tail wagged and she gave kisses. She was happy to be loved. AAU was amazing and Merry received all the vetting she needed. Merry's personality was grateful; she loved life and still does. AAU did what a lot of rescue groups would not - they pulled a sick senior dog and they had no idea how many medical issues she had. They took a chance. For this, I am forever grateful.” -Crystal ... See MoreSee Less
“I am eleven years old and my family has fostered and adopted several rescue pets from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Our most recent foster, who we decided to keep, is a big, fluffy boy who was very sick when he came into our home from the shelter. Even worse, he was terrified of all humans and it was obvious that he had been abused severely in his earlier life. He was what some would consider a “special needs” dog who would get nowhere near me or my sisters. He was terrified of doorways, leashes, loud sounds, and ate lying down. Yet Angels Among Us rescued him anyway. Their great volunteers and trainers coached my family on how to help our dog overcome his fear and slowly, he began to trust humans. Mommy and Daddy have always taught me and my sisters that patience is a virtue and that, in time, he would come around if we respected his body language. You can imagine the joy I felt when, a few weeks later, he reached over and kissed me on our patio. Daddy got it on camera! With time and training, we helped this amazing dog become balanced and loving; he greets me and my sisters every day when we come home on the school bus. I am sad to think how the world could have been without our dog in it; I am happy that he is alive because of Angels Among Us.” -Claire ... See MoreSee Less

She loves watching cartoons, playing with plastic bottle caps more than all of her expensive toys, and loves to ride in a car (we took her for couple trips and she loved it!). Surprisingly, she likes raspberries a lot - the smell attracts her. Overall, Bella is a great kitty - affectionate, smart, playful and very pretty. I couldn't dream of a better furry baby.
